the Pro Life Campaign's current "stop the bias" initiative.
This event is on Monday 5 July 2021Dear Friend, I am contacting you today to highlight an important campaign that is currently happening. The purpose of the campaign is to make sure that we hold our national broadcaster RTÉ to account for its glaringly one-sided coverage of the abortion issue. One of the ways of doing this is by ensuring a full and successful roll out of the Pro Life Campaign's current "stop the bias" initiative. There are lots of ways that the pro life movement can put pressure on RTÉ for not adhering to the highest journalistic standards. The E-card is just one way of conveying the message. But it is an important step. THE CAMPAIGN SO FAR Just over a fortnight ago the PLC started an E-card initiative addressed to the Director General of RTÉ. Thousands of E-cards have already been signed and emailed directly to Dee Forbes’ office, directly to her inbox. The E-card asks the Director General to explain to pro-life supporters why we should continue to pay the TV licence given the disgracefully one-sided way RTÉ covers the abortion issue. WE NEED YOU! We need to ensure that thousands more are sent in the coming weeks. Here is how you can help make this happen: Commit to a couple of hours every week- for the next month or so to spread the word about the E-card to family, friends, neighbours, the local parish, local prayer groups and any other groups you think may be interested. Sign The Card @ https://prolifecampaign.ie/stopthebias/ WhatsApp your network of friends, family and community (whatsapp 086 8246507 for sample message to send) Information Leaflet- order your leaflets today to hand to people explaining the reasons for the E-card initiative and informing them on how and where to send the E-card. Order Information Leaflets @ https://bit.ly/3cHO9mn Ask others to spread the word-Talk to your community and church leaders asking them to promote and spread the word. i.e your parish priest- share on parish newsletter & Facebook page. In the coming weeks, let’s stay active and work together to send the strongest possible message we can to RTÉ – a message conveyed by thousands of people in every county demanding that RTÉ sets higher standards and abides by its obligations as Ireland’s national broadcaster. Many thanks for your continued support and I look forward to hearing from you! Síle Quinlan Pro Life Campaign
